Most pickups are available in black, some maybe also in white and zebra. Dimarzio has a wider selection of colors, for instance I have a green Blaze in the bridge of my Schecter Omen 7 (bought it used – would probably not have gone with green :-)). But what if you want to go completely 80s with say pink pups or just want to keep the ones you have but spice them up a little visually.
Bobbin Toppers (corny name) are pickup covers available in a large variation of colors. From what I’ve seen in reviews they’re basically colored stickers cut after a pickup. They don’t last forever and are apparently quite difficult to fit, but generally people seem very happy with how they work. At $2 per coil it’s worth testing.
